Is there a dress code in Courchevel?
No official dress code exists for the resort, and we found no published dress rules for its restaurants or bars. Each venue sets its own policy, so ask when you book a table. What follows are local habits, not rules.
During the day
- Skiwear is worn everywhere, including on smart terraces and in hotel lobbies.
- Fitted, well-cut ski clothes in one or two colours look more refined than many colours at once.
- Fur-trimmed hoods, a good pair of sunglasses and a knitted headband are the details people notice.
In the evening
- Hotel bars after skiing stay relaxed: knitwear and après-ski boots are normal.
- Dinner in a palace calls for a step up, but rarely for formal evening wear.

What should you wear for dinner in a Courchevel palace?
Think of a smart dinner in a big city, then add a warm coat and boots. Outside, you will walk on snow or ice, even if a car drops you at the door.
For you
- A knit dress, silk trousers with cashmere, or a simple dress with tights.
- A long down coat or a shearling coat over it.
- Heeled boots with a rubber sole, or flat boots on the way and your heels in a bag.
For your husband
- A wool or cashmere jacket over a fine roll neck or a shirt.

In Courchevel 1850, around rue du Rocher and the Croisette, and in one boutique on the slopes. Courchevel Tourism says the luxury shops are mainly along the Croisette, near the grand hotels and the slopes. We checked each address below on the brand's own website.

Bernard Orcel, in Courchevel 1850 since 1973, is the easiest first stop: one visit covers several brands, and its workshop can shorten trousers.
Other houses, such as Hermès and Chanel, have had seasonal shops in the resort. We could not confirm their addresses for the 2026-2027 winter, so check with your hotel concierge before you go.

Can you rent a luxury ski outfit?
We found no service in Courchevel that rents designer skiwear. The nearest option is Rossignol's ski clothing rental, which delivers to a Rossignol store or a pick-up point near your holiday destination, in France and Italy only.
Which outfits look best in photos in Courchevel?
Solid, saturated colours against the snow, and one strong evening look for a walk through the village. Red, cobalt, emerald or a warm camel coat stand out. White can disappear on the slopes, though it looks lovely in close-ups.
Two ideas suit a couple's first trip:
- On the slopes: coordinate with your husband. One strong colour each, trousers in neutral tones.
- In the village before dinner: your evening outfit, a long coat and the lights of the shop windows. Plan it for the last half hour of daylight, around 5:40 pm in early February.
Any shots inside a hotel or restaurant need the venue's agreement, so the village streets are the easiest backdrop.
